SCRUBBING THE FLOOR

Last Saturday I spent the afternoon at the Ogden Airport working for my dad. He needed a hand in cleaning his hangar that houses his toys. His most invested toy, being the aerobatic bi-plane that he built by hand all the while I was growing up. The other plane housed is the Cessna 421 that he and my little brother love to chart time in. I was assigned to hand mop the floors of the hangar. So I donned some gloves and put some serious elbow grease into the job and here's some of the things I thought about while scrubbing the hangar floor on a Saturday afternoon.

(in no particular order)
1- FM 100 still plays the same songs that they played when I was waiting in the Orthodontist office to have my braces tightened in 7th grade.
2- I like scrubbing floors because I can pretend I'm on an info-mercial for mops. It's so fun to see the floor dirty, then wipe clean! Only $24.99 for shipping and handling.
3- I wonder when Kevin's going to call me..... ring ring ring. I swear we have ESP.
4- No matter how hard I scrub, that grease stain is not going anywhere.
5- My dad likes to show me "how to" do a job by taking over and completing most of it before handing it back over to me. That's how I got most of my math homework done in junior high school.
6- I wonder what my old boyfriends are doing right now?
7- There is always going to be someone or something dirtying up the floor as soon as it's clean.
8- I can really work a giant squeegee well because of my experience cleaning tennis courts in college.
9- I hate Mariah Carey (i don't even care if that's not how to spell her name.... she's not worth googling.)
10- Oh, my wedding song.
11- Seriously.... play some updated music FM 100!
12- I am so blessed to grow up in a family with a plane and the chance to travel the world and learn about everything. (Thanks Dad!)
13- No matter how old I am, when I work for my dad, I still feel like the jobs I'm doing are because I got in trouble for sneaking out late and he wants to help me "build character."
14- I love my dad! Hope I'm just like him with my kids.
15- I hate Mariah Carey and FM 100.
DONE!

Shan you are so funny. I have to admit I have some Mariah Carey on my workout playlist but I do think she is annoying as a person. Hope to see you soon.

My office is next to the Ogden Airport. What does your Dad's BiPlane look like?

That was hilarious, I once had my dad conned into doing an entire fractions assignment...

FIG: He built a Christen Eagle. It's white with multicolored feathers that are supposed to look like "eagle" feathers. It's so much fun. How are you and the girls doing?
