STOP TRYING SO HARD!!!!!!

WOW! What a difference a day makes.
Has anyone ever told you "you're just trying too hard?"
I heard it ALL THE TIME when I was playing junior tennis. I would work my butt off at workouts and I would study play's and take notes on opponents and I was SO AFRAID OF MAKING A MISTAKE... all just to hear the words "stop trying so hard and JUST PLAY the GAME."
Well, that hot topic is resurfacing and in the last 24 hours I realized that I need to stop trying to live by the rules of a book and stop being afraid to make a mistake and JUST BE the MOM I know how to be. I can already see the difference in Layla and my relationship! We are no longer pushing against each other, rather we're ENJOYING each other. I'm just letting what comes natural lead me through the day and it has been a DREAM! I finally feel like a mom again and so happy. I feel like I did the first day I met little Lady Layla. I'm putting my anxiety away for good and just relaxing into motherhood..... yaaaa.

you go girl!!!! I think you have a natural ability to be a GREAT mom, and I'm glad that you have figured this out!! I just wish I could say the same thing about me. But as most people say, "you're too hard on yourself". So I too just need to relax a bit and not look at other peoples kids are so tame, nice, kind to each other compared to my wild, unruly, cry baby kids. So I too need to give in and just let things go their natural course!

ps. I LOVE little layla's SHIRT!! how adorable can she get and all the clothes she has are just DARLING!!!

Shannon, I have always thought that you more than me or anyone I else I know would be the most incredible mom. I wish we talked on the phone more (or ever) call me if you need any moral support. 801-432-8558. Seriously the best mothering tip I could possibly recieve was to move another country where no one told me their opinion and I had to 100% rely on my own intuition. You can do this! No one can teach you how to be a mom you can't learn it from a book maybe some people can but you seriously have the best book/tools inside of you. I love you Shannon and I wish we were still neighbors we would hang out everyday like before. I am proud of you.

Shan, I'm so happy things are going better. You are DEFINITELY an amazing mom. My friend told me this quote, "there is no one way to be a perfect mom, but there are a million ways to be a good mom." and you got it!!!
