I'm barely hanging on by a thread these days.
Personal family stuff
Disaster of a house
Un-registered car since February
Piles and piles of papers that I keep avoiding
Procrastinated tax documents waiting to be mailed
A looming 21 mile running race that I am about 5% ready for
A stinky dog
Super tired and stressed out spouse
Constipated child
Broken down car
No idea how to start feeding my baby "real food" instead of food from a jar
A missing diamond from my wedding ring
And I haven't showered in 4 days
I'll be fine. Really, just fine. I just need to find a way to start climbing out of the hole. As a freakishly organized person who thrives on predictive scheduling and structure... I'm losing my mind with all the change that is going on around me. I feel like a sitting duck in the center of a whirlpool. The change that is around me is good. It's just A LOT of change at once. I"m just not good at dealing with learning a "new" way to do it all.
Good thing my husband is a super-hero and my daughter is constantly teaching me how to cope with change. I'll learn, some day.

if i've learned anything from "the other shan" it's that you don't need to have every single thing in life perfect. she has shown me that you really can do all the important things you need to do...and that an unmopped kitchen floor isn't going to be the end of the world. i know you, and i know it'll be hard, but don't sweat the small stuff. i promise layla will learn to eat real food. it has taken jude almost 3 1/2 years to figure out that one! and i promise all kday needs is your love and comfort. and he will be good to go conquer the world for you guys. and the stinky dog? who cares. leave him stinky for another week. and the car registration? well...you better get that done :) now go put some miralax in layla's bottle so she can poop and hop in the shower (cuz that really will make you feel like you can function better) and go be the shan we all know and love. you can do this. and even though it may not be up to your standards, you will accomplish all of it better than most of us out there. love you girly. xo
