DRAGON BABY

2012 is the Chinese Year of the Dragon, thus my sweet little O has falling into the category known to the Chinese as "One who brings luck and great fortune." Having a baby in the year of the Dragon (which only comes around every 12 years) is considered the most auspicious of all the Chinese zodiac. I could have told you that without the help of the Chinese calendar.

We celebrated a few days late, but better late than never these days. It was a superb party and although I was a little tired and Rita was nervous about her looming knee replacement the following day... we pulled off a slammin get together.

My fortune this year - you ask? Prior to pulling my fortune stick Kday stopped me and said "No wishing for kids!" I smirked, winked and pulled my fortune stick. No kids this year. But if my fortune comes to fruition as it has in years past... we'll end up with a home to my liking and and it will be an enjoyable year.
I sadly had to hand over the Grand Prize Platter that brought me such good luck last year. I had set it up as a shrine on our bed and it indeed brought good fortune! This year my brother in law won the grand prize at Chinese Bingo and so I handed it over... but don't worry, it will be back up for grabs next year :)
