I CALL HIM: RIDE-IZ

My Rider boy came to me as almost an angel falling from the sky right onto my lap. I didn't even know I was in the market for having or adopting and more children at the time "the phone call" came. It was February 2011 when I first heard word of this little miracle boy and I was terrified to even hope for a son.

He came, peacefully and quickly. He's still a quick one but as far as peaceful? Well, that was a phase.
Ride-iz has an eagerness about life that is evident in every moment of his time here on earth. Rider has gusto, appetite, glee... His smile is as large as his personality and it consumes me. Rider is loud and fun and exciting and its as if he is trying to tell me something profound. "Live in the moment mom! Embrace all that life has given us and explore every single second of excitement that life has to offer us!" Owen reminds me to slow down and Rider reminds to me to let lose a little and have a good time. They couldn't be more opposite, yet they are so perfect for me in every way. And they are the sweetest of brothers. I find satisfaction in watching these two form their early relationship and I'm eager to see it blossom.
Rider's eyes are something that is unbelievable until you see them in person. He looks into your soul and it's like he's here to reassure me that I'm a good enough person to bring a smile to his face. I've had long discussions with Rita (Kday's mom's alias by the way... I have a whole funny story about this some day.) and Kday about how I'm just certain Ride-iz will do marvelous works and affect many, many people some day. His spirit is remarkably special and although he is VERY difficult to corral and calm down... it's because he has greatness exploding from his spirit and he can't wait to share it. He challenges me with his busyness and his maximum decibel level at which he's recently discovered communicating with... (enter Baby S1gning Time)

Rider makes the perfect big brother. He's grown up fast and it's almost like he knew before coming to this Earth that he had to be a big brother and soon. He has filled his Big Brother shoes with ease.

When this kid finally crashes... he's out like a light and for the long haul
When darkness looms over me and depression or feelings of overwhelming stress roll in, Rider is my anchor. He is my light and my life, my saving grace who's smile reminds me to thank Heavenly Father for the abundance of blessings he's had in store for me. Even the one's I didn't know were coming. Rider, you surprise me every day. Thank you for bringing spontaneity into my life - you're worth it.

And P.S.... Kardash1ans - eat your heart out, these babies are a-natural.
