I got home from the hospital today around 11:15 am and while pulling into the driveway, I noticed the beautiful day it is outside. I chose to forego my usual Monday KIT routine and just enjoy today. There will never be another February 8 2010... ever... ever... EVER. Today instead of vacuuming and dusting and folding laundry and cooking dinner, I am choosing to dance around the room with Layla, read books with her while laying on the floor in her room, walk to the library, play fetch with Kashi, and just let the lists of things to do fade into the sunlight that surrounds us. It's really not easy for me to turn the "to-do" list face down on the fridge and put the list of KIT daily do's away, I have to coach myself through it. I'm tempted each second to pick up the socks on the floor while I play, but I won't. Instead I'll hug Lady extra tight and pick out another book to read. She'll be crawling soon and I'll have plenty of time to pick up the trail of messes that she leaves behind. For now, we'll just sit, lay, roll, and snuggle on the floor together and enjoy today for what it's worth. The BEST February 8, 2010 EVER.

I need to be more like you in this way. I need to remember that we can never rewind. we can never go back!!! each moment is so precious.
LOVE IT!!! This is why I don't make to do lists. Then I don't feel guilty for not getting things done during the day. Because honestly, a sunny, fun day is priceless compared to a sunny day filled with house work that can be done tomorrow, or the next day or the next day. Because really...It's all just going to get undone again soon anyways. :)
shannon, you are so dang ORGANIZED!!!! as for me I am not organized and still don't spend enough time with the kids even though I am home all day long with them. I truly admire you and you inspire me!!!
Good job with the running and yes your friend does look FABULOUS for having twins!!! My baby is 2 and I still look like I just had a baby!!
LOVE layla's 7 month pic!! She is just a doll and is sooooo lucky to have you as her mother!!!
ps. Will you please explain your little recipe box organizer and how you have it organized (as in how do have them labeled and what do you put in it?!??!?) I know I'm lame, but I need ideas to get me going!!
