A ROUGH KIND OF WONDERFUL
Posted by
S.DAY
Lady's been a little under the weather. Thanksgiving feasts were beautiful and even more delicious than ever, however I was more concerned about Buca. What I thought was a bad case of diaper rash and a bug bite turned out to be a bad case of MRSA. An antibiotic resistant staph infection in her legs that landed her in the ER on Thanksgiving evening. Good thing we didn't wait it out, it was only going to worsen into multiple little wounds. She escaped with only one sore needing to be opened and cleaned out and then packed with some special medicated gauze. A special antibiotic hanging in the IV bag for a day and now were home camped out on the couch. Every 6 hours we begrudgingly force her to choke down a nasty nasty antibiotic disguised as strawberry syrup and some "wound care" that involves un-packing her sore little by little each day. A few tears and no appetite are thankfully the only remains of our weekend at the hospital.
The wonderful part ---- 24 hour snuggling all weekend and our snuggle time on the couch for the next few days.

Oh my. Layla in a hospital gown? Seriously cute (and sad).
Get well soon, sweet Layla. Love you guys.
Scary! I'm glad you didn't wait any longer. I hope she gets feeling better soon, then you can recover too. Did she get a new blanket out of the hospital visit?
Sweet photo of Buca in her hospital duds! You guys dealt with all of this so calmly and wisely. Good thing she didn't get a blanket out of the ordeal since you already have more than you will ever use. We would be happy to share in some snuggle time with Layla if you bring her over after church. Dad is teaching in Sunday School today.
so sorry to hear of another little one being sicky! no more! i am completely maxxed out! maybe i will drop by a loaf of bread later this week. love you guys.
I am so glad she is okay!!! I was so worried about her. We can't wait to see you in TWO WEEKS!!! Love you!
Wow! this Thanksgiving was a doozy! Glad she is doing better and you caught it quickly.
OH so sad! I hope she is feeling better and that you're all catching up from a crazy weekend. I hate when little ones are hurt or sick.
