What am I thinking?
I let my favorite cousin talk me into doing another 1/2 marathon in 8 weeks.
This one I plan to prepare for a little more.
I won't be in true race shape anytime soon, but why let that hold me back.
An important lesson I'm trying to apply while I'm in my new body is,
"Just because I can't do something to 100% satisfaction, doesn't mean it's not worth doing."
I like to do everything with 100% effort and I expect to be 100% satisfied with my efforts as well as with the outcome.
So it's super duper hard to do something knowing full well that it won't be to my "usual" standard.
I decided if I wait to "run" until I've lost a lot of weight and in "running shape"... then I'll miss out on a lot of fun runs in the meantime.
Same to be applied with a lot of opportunities to have fun.
I won't wait to - until I'm ...
Swim - in swimming suit shape
Jump on the trampoline with the kids - light enough not to feel like a fool
Get dressed up and take care of my looks - can fit into my skinny jeans
the list goes on...
Life is too short to miss out on opportunities just because the result won't be perfect.
So I signed up to do the Mt. Nebo 1/2 marathon.
It's on my 12th anniversary.
And I'm doing it with two fantastic ladies in my family.
